Happy New Year NAMD!

This is an extremely exciting time for our chapter. The New Year brings new energy, new goals and an abundance of growth and opportunity for our organization.

As we continue to build we will still hold true to our purpose to serve as a resource for African-American marketing specialists and a catalyst for cultivating positive growth in the African-American community.

To this day, NAMD continues its quest to create local networking opportunities, provide professional development and to form strategic marketing alliances. The organization body is committed to these 5 principals:

1. Serve as a National African-American Consumer Resource
2. Provide Professional Support to the community
3. Support Students through education and guidance programs
4. Increase NAMD's exposure through National Public Affairs
5. Develop National Liaisons with other Organizations

We have great things lined up for the New York Chapter in 2009:

Marketing Mondays will continue as a staple and source of invaluable information to our members and associates.

The Master's Classes are a wonderful and much needed addition to NAMD's roster of events. It provides a direct line to a wealth of knowledge and expertise.

The NAMD Mixer at Negril Village will continue to brand NAMD as we develop strategic alliances with other professional organizations and taking networking to the next level. NAMD style!

And much more.

I encourage you to get the most out of your membership by getting involved in one of our committees: Chapter Development, Events, Membership, Awareness/PR and Communications. Your invaluable input is welcome. Stay tuned for information on the general members meeting.

And finally, if you haven't already done so please send your bios and pictures so that we can feature you on the NY Chapter website. www.namd-nyc.org. And check out the national website for conference info. It will be held in Silver Springs, Maryland this year, which is really close to home. We hope to see you all there.
